Words by Google engineer Ivan Poupyrev -
As
mentioned on the Google's blog post by lead technology engineer Ivan "it's a jacket. Like any regular denim
jacket, you can wash it (just remove the snap tag), it's durable, designed to
be comfortable for cycling and it'll keep you warm on and off the bike."
This means that the Jacquard - is not just a tech accessory but a fully
functional piece of clothing aimed at bicyclists.
The
project Jacquard was announced more than two years ago, in Google's annual
developers conference in San Francisco. Where the technology giant brought spot
light on Levis® Strauss as its first partner in the venture. Project Jacquard got shape small Google team
called Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) and it got its name following a
Frenchman who invented a type of loom.
Sales begin Today itself on 27 September.
The
Jacket is priced at $350 - and is
available in USA select stores. You can
order it online after 2nd October from Levis®.
Now, interesting part will be the customers reviews especially the cyclist,
whether the Google-Levis® duo have been able to simply their commutes as
expected. For more technology updates, and digitalmarketing services sign up for our news letter.
